Interschool Cross Country
Interschool Cross Country
On Friday the 20th of August, 29 students from Traeger and Sadadeen Campus put their cardiovascular endurance and will power to the test at the 2021 Interschool Cross Country Competition. With temperatures creeping back to the 30’s our students ensured to stay cool and hydrated before and after their events. The calm demeanour of the OLSH students relaxing in the shade was not to be mistaken for a lack of enthusiasm. To the contrary, these young competitors were waiting with baited breath, holding back until that starting whistle to channel all of their stored energy into their legs; compelling their muscles to maintain a pace that was outside of their comfort zone. Step after step took them further away from the starting line, but it also brought them that much closer to victory. Coming around the final bend, with their lungs bursting they pushed through into a final run. It was a mad dash to the finish line. The end of the path was lined with students from all schools and age groups, cheering for every racer that approached the end of their journey. The OLSH crew did us proud with their efforts and demonstration of team spirit. A huge congratulations to our competitors who gave it their all, and well done to the following students who placed for age champion:
