Margaret Kwemwentyaye Turner, also known as Dr M. K. Turner, sadly passed on 5th July 2023. Her family remembered her as the "Jewel of Alice Springs". This was the first reflection from her Granddaughter. The State Funeral at the Telegraph was a fantastic testimony of how much one woman could achieve in one lifetime.

As a forceful representative of the First Nations people, her respect in the community was reflected in the presence of Alice Springs locals and Territorians, with approximately 2,500 people in attendance. OLSH had 33 students and six members of staff representing the College and showing our respect for what Mrs Turner had achieved for Catholic education.
