Mixed Netball

Mixed Netball

Throughout term 3 our student athletes have been engaging diligently in all sporting activities and opportunities presented to them. The most noteworthy of which was the inter-house mixed netball competition, which saw students from across years 9 to 12 competing against their rival houses. On match days the Marian Centre was bustling with students, all of whom came to partake in the next thrilling match, either as spectators, competitors, scorers or even umpires. It was inspiring to see so many students stepping up to take part in running these matches which we have grown to anticipate. In week six tension had risen at the Sadadeen campus; with each house having a win under their belt, it was anyone’s guess who would rise up and participate in the Grand Final. After two astounding matches, it was determined that Gillen & Bennett would face off in the final match. And what a match it was! Cheers could be heard for every point scored and penalties called upon; no obstruction went unnoticed during this final nail-biting match. With a quick change over of umpires during halftime, the match came to its cataclysmic end with Gillen emerging victorious with a score of 23 to 7. To finish off the term the students then took their greatest challenge yet: their teachers. Congratulations to all who competed and showed us old biddies how it’s done.
